It's about time that there's someone bridging the Philippines to the global streetwear industry, which we all have secretly been wishing for. The people behind the progressive retail concept, Commonwealth, has recently launched another groundbreaking space. In addition to the launch of the Carhartt Work In Progress Pop-Up, the POV pop-up space was unveiled. A space that's more exploratory of styles, brands, and culture; a lab of some sort where experiments spew inspiration, influences and new point of views. They embarked on this idea with a prominent heritage brand to set the tone, which is thrilling for most streetwear enthusiast out there. If they could get Carhartt WIP to do a pop-up here in the country, it begs the question, who else could they bring here? We could let our imaginations run wild, and hopes fly high, but we'll leave it to them to surprise us. We are just really excited of the possibilities of POV, it's potentially a catalyst for a step higher in the streetwear fashion ranks of the world.
You can visit POV at the ground floor of SM Aura, BGC, you will find it in front of the Commonwealth store. The Carhartt WIP Pop-Up will be open for three months which will end on August 30, 2016. Other than the collection of the brand, the space also hosts a gallery that presents the brand's story. You can view the photos that we took from the launch of the space below.
