Sabayton Figurine by Louie Cordero

Local popular culture has become very diverse and progressive recently, probably because of the internet age. It has become more interesting and eclectic day by day. The likes of Ramon Bautista, Lourd de Veyra and Jun Sabayton have paved the way for intelligent talents to breakthrough the conventional local stardom. And to establish that even more, recently, artist Louie Cordero has launched his Sabayton Figurine which is a direct interpretation of Jun Sabayton's public character, an ignorant middle-aged Filipino, who's almost always annoying and hilarious at the same time. We are sure though this is not his real identity, however, it's amazing how Jun with his colleagues created this rather simple image that became so successful. It is about time that local popular culture become more sensible and interesting through intriguing and intelligent entertainment. The figurine was released last August 23, 2014 at Xbesitzer Art Gallery, if you are interested contact 0915-380-5172 for inquiries.

Nike KD7 "Calm Before The Storm

Kevin Durant may be in the midst of a contract situation regarding his shoe sponsors, but that hasn't stopped Nike from steadily rolling out his latest signature sneaker. The newest rendition to hit retail stores is nicknamed the "Calm Before The Storm". Taking inspiration from the unpredictability of the forces of nature, designer Leo Chang brings to life a sneaker that fits the dynamic nature of reigning NBA MVP's game. Dominantly decked out in grey with contrasting pink accents, the shoe is said to represent a tranquil sky before the onset of a powerful storm. Clearly a nod to the "Weatherman" theme that's been running through Kevin Durant's sneaker line. Those interested in picking up a pair can head to Titan and other select Nike Basketball retailers starting this weekend.
