Be Back in 2014

We are very sorry for the sudden halt of our operations, we actually almost decided on closing the website down. However, the support we got and we are still getting prevented us from doing so. We are humbled by all the positive words thrown at us, and very happy that we have helped the local culture progress in such a short time that the website has been running. So it is inevitable for us to try to find a way to continue what we do. After a short break, we assure you that we will be back stronger and more passionate with this. Operations will not be rushed though and our growth will be controlled to level with our team's capacity, keeping in mind that our mission is to promote the local culture nonetheless. We won't announce any specific details yet as we are still working on our final plans. But what we can say is; we will be back by 2014, so expect us by then. For now, we extend you our gratitude for supporting us and what we do. Let's work on to pushing it further by next year.

Top 5 Songs We Want To Hear at the Tegan and Sara Show

The Tegan and Sara show is right around the corner and most of us are dying to know what they have in store for their first visit to the Philippines. Knowing that they've been a household name for indie rock, we want nothing but to hear our favorite tracks from their eighteen years of releasing records and playing shows. These are t top five songs that have made me, as well as other fans, fall in love with the duo through all these years.  With fingers crossed and managed expectations; I sincerely hope that these songs are in their Manila set list.

5. "Walking with a Ghost" (from Jealous, 2004)
This song must already be a staple for any Tegan and Sara / indie rock fan. Combine catchy and simple lyrics with a strong guitar riff and you have a song that will get stuck in your head for days.

4.  "Someday" (from Sainthood, 2009)
Sometimes music is the perfect companion when we find ourselves in awful situations. This track is so full of hope and assurance to get you through any rough day or week. If we're having a bad week, we're sure that hearing this song live will give us that 180-degree turn for the better.

3. "Nineteen" (from The Con, 2007)
This totally relatable track will remind us of what it was like to be nineteen going through those feelings. This angst-y/grungy song would be a nice break from all the pop tracks from their latest album.

2. "Closer" (from Heartthrob, 2013)
What's not to love about this song? This recent chart topper has to be in the list of top songs we want to hear during the show. There's no doubt that we are all going to go completely bonkers over this synth pop anthem. Just imagine the stage's flashing lights and the booming amplifiers alongside the crowd's fists pumping in the air and screaming voices.

1. "Call it Off" (from The Con, 2007)

We're sure that a lot of the fans have had this song in their sentimental/emotional playlists since the day they first heard this song on the record. We're all going to feel nostalgic, remembering the different breakups and failed relationships that was accompanied by listening to this track. This short but powerful track is going to be the emotional pinnacle for most fans.

Purveyr x Stndrds: Back Like We Never Left Recap

After a brief cool-off in the scene, Stndrds is back and they're making sure everyone knows about it. To kickoff their return, Stndrds held the 'Back Like We Never Left' event that featured today's hottest beats from some of the well-known local artists, a load of booze, and the return of their staple tees that once again gets the market buzzing. The event was well-hyped and with the audience already in attention, Stndrds did not fail to make the event one for the books. The event was definitely well-attended and the local scene showed their utmost support and love for the already-established brand. Not only did the people get a treat with the free-flowing booze and food, they were also enjoying beats by Ize, Ulzzang Pistol and Bin5, and to further the Stndrds 'Back Like We Never Left' experience and encapsulate the whole event, Stndrds put their latest tees on discount - if that isn't enough, the Wings from Red Bull hooked the placed up with some Red Bull to keep the night going - an outright happy ending to the event.

Stndrds continues to make a name for themselves as they look to take on new heights - and together with the strong support the brand continues to receive, it seems like the sky is the limit and the possibilities are endless. It's nice to say that Stndrds is back. It would be ideal to keep an eye out on the latest news and drops from Stndrds - you snooze, you lose.

Check Stndrds out on Facebook. A few snaps from the event are found below.

Black Market presents Black Out

Black Market, the newest underground location for partying, and by partying we don't mean any of those Top-40 EDM that you hear 24/7 in prominent clubs in Manila. Black Market is the odd one, as they will provide music such as Techno, Dub, Detroit, UK Funky, Electro, IDM, Drum & Bass, Chicago, Dubstep, Trap, and everything else that you won't hear in any other clubs. Actually, we're not even sure if we should call this a club, more of a hub for like-minded music lovers who has deeper taste and senses than your usual party-goer. Black Market will officially open on Friday, October 4, 2013. It will be at Warehouse 5, La Fuerza, Sabio St., Don Chino Roces Ave., Makati. Then the next night, October 5, 2013, they will host Black Out. A release party that will feature Objekt from Berlin, Germany supported by Huang and Salamangkero. Have a peek on Objekt's music below.
