The young Filipino domestic helper in Hong Kong who impressed a lot of people with her passion and skill for photography has recently risen another level up the industry. Xyza Bacani has won a slot in the Human Rights Fellows of the Magnum Foundation. She is part of the seven people chosen by the prestigious foundation, where they are given a scholarship to study at the Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. Her depiction of the street life is strongly emotional which shows perfectly the grit, essence and the non-glamour of urban living. We are excited for Xyza and for her craft. It's great to know that Filipinos also excel in a lot of other mediums and skills. You can view more of her work at her website.
