Purveyr Magazine Issue 2: A focus on the Philippine Creative Culture

Earlier this year, Purveyr further heightened its movement by releasing Purveyr Magazine Issue 1, an independent magazine that promotes and supports the creative culture of the Philippines from its people, brands, products, ideas and more. Purveyr Magazine is a concrete expression of what we at Purveyr believe in -- It is more than just a printed version of Purveyr.com, it is rooted on our belief that traditional print offers a unique reader experience, which can never be emulated by digital platforms.

Purveyr Magazine provides a more in-depth look at our local culture and the people that shape it. From stories to photographs, it imparts a personal perspective of the creative culture. Some of the brands featured in the first issue are: Proudrace, Loudbasstard, THE Clothing, Bambike, Katipunan Craft Ale, and 13 Lucky Monkey; while featured personalities include Rjay Ty, Alex Omiunu and Abra of Lyrically Deranged Poets, Erwan Heussaff, Valerie Chua, Egg Fiasco, etc.

The acceptance and approval towards the first issue have certainly impassioned us to make it even better for the second issue. It has showed us that there are people who understand and care for what we want to do and impart. The release of the first issue also made us understand more of who we are and what we are trying to do. We have entirely figured why we are pursuing Purveyr, which is because we feel that the Philippine Creative Culture deserves more respect and attention. It is worthy of more understanding, more thought, and most especially, more appreciation. And so, we went on this quest not just to expose the Philippine Creative Culture, but to also entirely explore it. There must be a way to understand and archive who we are as a creative nation, through different perspectives, cultures and lives.

Creative does not necessarily just equate to art and design; creative is a way of thinking, a way of life. There is creativity in everything we do: in food, style, sports, music, business and more. This is what we want to explore with Purveyr, the creativity of Filipino individuals, products, brands and ideas. While this is our mission, the magazine is our action. It is our way of easing this ideology to the Filipino people.

Now as we move forward with our endeavor, we hope to reach more people who can find meaning and value to what we do and what the magazine is made for, so we can push forward the local scene and grow the creative culture even more.

Purveyr Magazine Issue 2 features Kiko Escora, Martine Cajucom, Anna Sobrepeña-Ong and Erick Ong, Team Manila, Darryll Rapacon, David Guison, Chi Gibbs, Similarobjects, Veejay Villafranca, Commonwealth, Kalsada Coffee, and many more.
