The best thing to do in Tagaytay, or anywhere for that matter, is eat - so if you're spending the entire day down south, then you better start planning your food trip. There are a number of good dining spots in Tagaytay; just along the main highway you'll see restaurant after restaurant after restaurant. But away from the busy streets, as you enter the smaller roads, you'll find Antonio's - one of the best restaurants in all of Asia, and the best in the country (according to numerous polls and surveys here and abroad) Antonio's is one of the restaurants under the Antonio's Group of Restaurants, along with Breakfast at Antonio's and Balay Dako. Recently we were invited to experience all three in a food crawl with Booky to launch their partnership with the Antonio's Group.
Our first stop was Breakfast at Antonio's, and boy was that the perfect way to kickstart the day. We stuffed our faces with the most filling breakfast spread of Salmon Bagel, Gratinated Portobello, Fried Rice Omelette, Fresh Corned Beef Roesti, Homemade Granola with Yogurt, and a refreshing TWG Jade of Africa Mimosa to wash it all down. Just a few hours after devouring all of those, we head to Balay Dako for lunch - here they serve Filipino favorites with the Antonio's twist. Balay Dako houses Comedor, which is a family style dining area, and the Terraza Bar and Grill. Lastly, we make it to Antonio's and although we didn't actually experience their fine dining, we got to chill and unwind at Lanai Lounge with some cocktails and charcuterie. They say Antonio's is much more than a restaurant, it is an experience - and that we agree with 100%. Check out our photos from this Antonio's food day trip below.
