#FreshFoodFeast: Fowlbread's Fried Chicken Sandwich

In this age of abundant eats, and with new food joints opening weekly, we felt like adding more noise in the ever-expanding realm of food online. With our amateurish food knowledge, excitement to just about anything that's new, and a stomach ready to devour everything delicious, we bring you #FreshFoodFeast. A once to twice a month feature (or more, if we're really hungry) on certain dishes in the country. Like everyone here, we appreciate honesty in food reviews, but since we really don't want anything bad to say to anyone, featured food in this series will only be composed of food we really like. Also, can we establish it as soon as now that this will be purely about personal opinion? Please don't expect any technical reviews, the most knowledge we have here is really just, if it's savory or sweet.

So for the first ever #FreshFoodFeast, we focus on the Fried Chicken Sandwich of the newly opened joint in Bonifacio High Street, Fowlbread. It comes from the group who created Badbird's Umami Chicken, so it's definite that this will be a treat one way or another. Before anything else though, I'd just want to commend the unique interiors of Fowlbread. It successfully brought me to another era, but with a firm grasp of what is contemporary. Not sure if it has anything to do with their menu though, but nonetheless it added to the experience. Now, onto the sandwich. It comes in soft buns with a perfectly cooked chicken breast on top of a Russian dressing, and then homemade pickles, red radish and that extra crispy burst of flavor, the signature chicken skin. If you'd want to experience the pleasurable confused kind of feeling in your mouth, we might have just found the answer. Its mix of textures and flavors is beautifully done, which makes it hard not to think about it as much even after you've left the place. The chicken sandwich comes in three variants; safe, spicy and chemical. Oh, and before I forget, I devoured their garlic fries too. I may actually have spent more time eating the fries than the sandwich, if I remember correctly. And lastly, Fowlbread's Fried Chicken Sandwich is definitely savory.
