The skate and streetwear culture in Manila has been growing steadily ever since, but for it to be a formidable force in the Philippines, it should also be advocated outside the city. This has been the obstacle for the community, until recently when more and more outlets popped out from different provinces around the country. The Block is one of those outlets that stretch the trend and are brave enough to share the culture with small communities from around unusual locations. Kalibo, Aklan is not even established as a city yet, so it is highly that the market is either not yet ready or not yet enough if you come to think of it, but Kervin Baguinon thought of it differently. He established The Block to bring an uprising culture and community to his hometown, bringing another perspective of life to Kalibo's locals. Though still in soft opening, The Block already offers a wide array of products from skateboards, caps, bags, clothing and more from both international and local brands. If you are in Aklan, better drop by their store at 2nd Flr., Salvador Bldg., Mabini, Kalibo, Aklan. For more information, you can visit their website.
