Here’s some hardcore throwback of
“Rave in the Philippines”. The electronic music culture first hit Philippine
shores in the early-mid 90s. Founded by Toti Dalmacion, he started Groove Nation
that spread the popularity of the genre in Manila. Later he organised an event
called “Consortium” which pushed the techno and house music scene further. This
was the time when Malate was the
place to be. Street fashion made a breakthrough as well.
Music and fashion at the time have changed the youth’s way of life. Now the
real 90s cool kids scoured their photodumps to share with us what it was like
20 years ago.
