Contemporary painter and collegiate professor, RM de Leon,
recently opened his latest art installation called "From A Distance Beyond
18 Inches". As a satire on popular and mainstream abstraction, this current exhibition features a number of familiar cartoon
characters presented in a beautiful yet deconstructive manner. Utilizing an evident mastery of line and
color, it is not surprising that his work immediately interacts with it's
viewer's imagination. Not only do the
pieces engage it's audience with a playful design aesthetic, but it also gives
you a nostalgic feeling, which makes his work so much more appealing and alluring. The exhibit will run for three weeks, from
July 4 - 22, in the Artinformal Main Gallery.
