Six years after his last release Strange Odyssey, Eggboy finally returns with his new EP entitled Spotlight Effect. Diego Mapa, the man behind the electro-pop alias, explains that he initially wanted to release the EP with the title “Lost Tapes,” as it included his unreleased tracks. After reimagining the tracks, updating lyrics and making new beats along the way, Eggboy observes that the process “was like jamming with my younger self.” He christened the finished EP “Spotlight Effect,” after the psychological phenomenon of people feeling that they are more noticed than they actually are.
