A 20-Foot Container Van Turns Into Every Surfer's Dream Abode

If there is a place a wave rider would love to wake up to, it would be Buji Libarnes's 60's inspired abode along La Union's beach. Compact and laid-back, this 20-foot-container-van-turned-70-sqm-home only reflects what the owner-slash-architect-designer loves: surfing, the 60's, and Japanese architecture. Buji shares that he also had the cult classic film "The Endless Summer" and the Case Study Houses of Los Angeles as his inspiration. What characterizes the place though, is the disciplined geometry which is softened by aged wood paneling and glass jalousies. The vintage articles -- a black rotary phone, his favorite blue Hitachi fan, various knickknacks, and vinyl sounds -- plus his Mini Cooper wedged inside the indoor garage also added even more character and lightness into this space tagged by L'Officiel Manila as "The Coolest Spot in La Union". To know more about its details and a tidbit of Buji's story, read here.

Curtismith shows his flow in his Lookin Up Music Video

Curtismith releases his latest music video featuring the song, Lookin Up from his Failing Forward EP. It is an artful depiction of the song, and most especially a showcase of Curtismith's flow, both lyrically and motion. Somehow it's a preview of how he usually performs live, which is entertaining. The video is reminiscent of that same energy that I felt when I saw him live, an investment of not just hearing, but actually feeling his performance. It's not easy to convey feeling, yet Curtismith easily transcends certain walls of musical measures to keep you wanting for more even after the fade to black. The video is a product of Stronghold MNL and photographer, Nikki Ruiz.

MHC pays homage to classic workwear with THE REBIRTH

Founded in 2012, MHC's initial collection was 'Barrels and Antlers' (their version of Christmas time in the city), followed by a summertime collection in collaboration with STNDRDS. And then after a two-year hiatus, Most High Co. is back at it with THE REBIRTH, going back to the brand's roots and taking a look into what time has molded it to become.

Classic workwear serves as the foundation of the new collection, each piece with a story worth telling. For instance, the trousers don't look as plain and simple as you think. Reach for the inside pocket and you'll see the words Tiwala, a simple reminder that an empty pocket is not the end of the world. Likewise, the work jacket is not just an elementary garment, a quote saying how work isn't everything is plastered on the inside, only for the wearer. Scraps of denim are patched together to make up the bucket hat, a telltale reminder that something beautiful can be created out of the seemingly useless when they come together as a whole.
