Gnarly Set The Trend Collection


Gnarly has just released their Set The Trend collection. As promised they went out with a simpler take on this collection, compared to their usual design aesthetics. Worn by Chicosci's Miggy Chavez, the collection boasts a grayscale base with yellow accents to represent Gnarly subtly. The collection is composed of graphic tees, a pocket tee and a pullover hoodie. They are now available at Gnarly's online shop.

Ayala Museum x Power Mac Center 'Diorama Experience'

Solidarity 21: RSCLS x KST - Artist Talk and Live Art


As part of Solidarity 21, RSCLS did an artist talk and live art last July 23 at Secret Fresh, Ronac Art Center. It was a night to celebrate graffiti and the art that surrounds it. The RSCLS Crew talked about their passion for the craft while also sharing stories while pursuing the art. Also, they exhibited their talents as they did a live graffiti piece at the venue. The event-goers were treated as the artists were very accommodating and friendly to everyone, plus music to complete the mood provided by the DJ.

Boracay Labor Day Weekend 2013 by Astron


There has been a big buzz with the Labor Day weekend in Boracay. If you have not experienced it yet, let this video by Astron show you how it is. The weekend is not for the chill ones, people go there to party and go all out. It's no ordinary weekend at the beach, it's somehow a whole weekend of partying, like a very very small Tomorrowland of some sort. Even comparable to spring break parties. The xx Live in Manila

The critically acclaimed English indie electronic trio, The xx, is recognized for their use of vintage synths and beats and heavy reverb sounds, which sends their listeners in a trance. Isa Aniga, AKA Skymarines has released a solemn love song with soft synths to keep it upbeat subtly. Glasshouse is an anthem to a broken heart. Skymarines depicts it successfully through the use of beautifully written phrases that aligns itself perfectly to the tune. Listen to the sad serenade below.

Elevate Apparel 'Back To School' Collection


Elevate Apparel has released their 'Back To School' Collection a few weeks back. It is composed of t-shirts, a tank top and a henley top, which includes another version of their signature football-varsity-inspired tee. Elevate has been consistently producing great products, and we don't see them slowing down any time soon.






Gnarly 'Set The Trend'


Manila-based graphic clothing brand, Gnarly is set to release their newest collection soon. Gnarly is known to be a colorful brand, creating designs and characters in numerous loud colors. Though it works for them really well, they're going to experiment with a cleaner and simpler look for their next collection. Expect their staple characters and graphic-aesthetic to still show, but now in a more downgraded color mix.

Jon Burgerman: South East Asia Tour



English artist and illustrator Jon Burgerman will be giving a talk, followed by a toy release in Manila for his South East Asian Tour entitled "It's Great to Create". Burgerman's distinctive use of vibrant colors and unworldly characters has been exhibited from as far as LA to Shanghai and Melbourne. In fact, his design aesthetic is so versatile that he has designed everything from sneakers, toys, books, hotel rooms, and toilet rolls among others. This one-night only opportunity will be on the 28th of July at the Vinyl On Vinyl gallery. Don't miss a chance to cop his latest toy and book as well as learn a thing or two from the doodle-master himself.



Similarobjects - Sympathetic Resonance EP


Synthwave artist Similarobjects released his newest EP "Sympathetic Resonance" today via Beatport. This 5-track project produced by Deeper Manila Records is on its initial release and will be available in other outlets on August 1st. You can preview the EP at Beatport, listen to Similarobjects' futuristic ambient sounds infused with offbeat rhythms and tunes which makes it uniquely interesting.

Fliptop x WIP Caps The Battle MC III 'Desert Digi-Camo'


WIP Caps has been supporting the hip hop scene locally for the longest time, and Fliptop is a huge part in the community. So it is an inevitable collaboration between these two brands. They are coming out with their third edition of the Fliptop WIP Caps The Battle MC Cap. It comes in Desert Digi-Camo print with the iconic "Battle MC" crossed microphones logo in front, and boxed "STFU" embroider at the back. It will come out  real soon, be updated through WIP Caps' website.





I Love Kusama: Yayoi Kusama




Ayala Museum, with the support of the Japan-Foundation-Manila, recently opened an exhibit called "I love Kusama" in celebration of the 40 year ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation as well as the Philippine-Japan Friendship Month. The exhibit includes a breathtaking collection of prolific Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama's paintings. Kusama has easily become one of the most significant and influential avant-garde artists of the past century for she helped pioneer some of the most relevant art movements of today - Pop Art and Minimalism. Furthermore, she is known for her superb use of color contrast and her iconic use of polka-dotted patterns; it is no surprise that she has collaborated with some of fashion's biggest names -Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs. This rare installation is a must-see for art-enthusiasts and design connoisseurs alike for the exhibit will only run from the 16th of July to the 1st of September in the Ayala Museum, Makati.
