Life Dance Sinulog 2013 Video Teaser

"Welcome to the circus of life" After making history holding the country's biggest outdoor party this past summer, the Life Dance crew is at it again as it releases its video teaser for a Sinulog gig. True with the theme, the video shows a mystical creature finding its way to a circus. The end scene suggests a 3D party is what's up. Life Dance Sinulog 2013 happens on January 18, right at the start of the festival weekend.

Threedown Anniversary Release

Black and red is the theme in lifestyle clothing brand Threedown's latest drop, their anniversary release. A pocket tee and a shirt with print that reads "Veni x Vidi x Vici" compose the release. Interesting is the latter, that which the brand calls as "VVV". The phrase, penned by history's Julius Caesar, translates as "I came, I saw, I conquered" in English--representative of the brand's pride for their hustle in the industry. Heima x IdKids "B.A.B.E.L. and Skala"

Heima, the quirky design Mecca and brand just released the catalog for their collaboration with IdKids, Nice Buenaventura and Owel Alvero. It is composed of two meticulously designed home/office decorations that provoke imagination and creativity. B.A.B.E.L. which is short for Building A Better Edifice Leisurely is composed of differently shaped and designed blocks to promote inspiration and innovation. While the Skala is more of a light source shaped as a cabin. What's distinct and intriguing about it is its reversal of idea of a cabin lit up. Usually and normally, when cabins or any house of some sort has lights on, windows glow, but in Skala's case it's the darker. The small details make it unconventionally appealing, perfect for night-in relaxations.

Purveyr Seven with Rjay Ty

One of the faces of the hiphop group LDP is Rjay Ty, he started humbly from his dreams of becoming a prominent hiphop artist with his two friends in the group. Now he has firmly set foot on the grounds of the hiphop realm, and proved that he can also succeed on his own. Not forgetting family though, he still performs with LDP in a lot of occasions, however, his main focus now is his music and to push further the scene. Besides being an artist he also co-founded Wordplay, which has become the main platform for aspiring acts and lovers of the art to come out and share what they have to say. Truly Rjay is a big part of the community, an independent thinker and doer. Hear what he has to say, see the interview after the break.

BAKECON Holiday Release

It all started a few months ago, with BAKECON releasing three pocket tees to start their brand up and it was quite imminent that they would follow up the success of their first release. They were definitely something to watch out for and they without doubt didn't let down, especially with their Holiday Release which was introduced during Platform 2. The Holiday Release features more than just four new pocket tees - "Aztec", "Day of the Dead", "Paisley", and "Golden" - but also 2 new shirts, including a button-down. A big jump from their first release, as BAKECON further expands the brand with more than just the pocket tees. Platform 2012: 2nd Round Recap

Platform did a very great job in keeping the scene up & running last March, they had to do it again this year. Last Sunday, November 25th, Platform gave emerging independent brands another round to step it up and showcase their wares, and we are very grateful and honored to be part of this movement. From local streetwear staples UNSCHLD & Progress, high fashion but purely nationalistic brand Proud Race, to new but promising streetwear and menswear brands, Chief, Flying Dutchman, etc., the show just keeps on getting better and better everytime. Not to mention the live DJ sets of Nix Damn P x Motherbasss and DJ Euric kept the crowd boppin' their heads while they take a rest from shopping. Getting to see all these brands gather in one place doing their thing only tells that this is just the start of something big. Hope to see you at the next Platform! Threedown x Wordplay Anniversary

Saturday night at the Deck the Threedown team with Wordplay producers celebrated their anniversary with an all out hip-hop celebration. It all started with performances by LDP and other various artists. Also, Indio launched and gave away copies of his newest album, plus anniversary goods from Threedown. When all were settled and you think it was all over, Wordplay came into process, lots of people participated in it performing spoken word and raps. Jason Markk x Titan Official Release Party

The father of premium sneaker cleaning solutions, Jason Markk is about to be coming in the country soon. His collaboration with Titan has led him to go back here after almost 20 years. LDP is putting the "X" on Vixen tomorrow as EDEN Nightclub's Vixen Wednesdays holds the music video launch of Abra's "Gayuma" and LDP's "Taking Backkk the City". Joining them in their performance is fellow artist Mike Swift. DJ sets will be taken care of by DJ Buddah and SPNZ. As always for Vixen Wednesdays, foxy ladies get in for free and open bar until midnight.

UNSCHLD x Titan "Return To Deer Valley" Release and Opening

Last Thursday, Titan opened their newest branch at 2 Parkade. It is just beside Bonifacio High Street, so it's also a little bit near their very first store at Burgos Circle. Besides the opening party, they also released the "Return To Deer Valley" capsule collection with UNSCHLD. The store embodies the signature Titan idea, a retail barbershop. The event was packed, if you didn't go you missed free food, drinks and beats by various local DJs. Drop on by their newest location, enjoy their new space and grab some from the "Return To Deer Valley" pieces, at they are only available in that branch. In Transit: A Multimedia Collective

Every year, the graduating class of College of Saint Benilde's Multimedia Arts program holds an exhibit to showcase the work of upcoming multimedia designers. This year's capstone exhibit, titled 'In Transit: A Multimedia Collective', aims to show the audience the artists' different perspectives on different realms of discovery. Sounds interesting? Red-i - Galactic Dancehall (Official Music Video)

The local underground music scene is a lot broader and vast than what most of you know, and Red-i proves it right. Red-i, a staple in the reggae, dubstep and other genres in their family tree, releases the official music video for his track "Galactic Dancehall". The track is accompanied by bizarre black-and-white visuals made by Steve Tirona and Kazou that somehow evokes angst and creeps, in a good way though. Check out the video above.

Titan x UNSCHLD "Return To Deer Valley" Lookbook

The Deer Valley Titans are back, and are a lot stronger. The Return To Deer Valley lookbook is composed of Andro Torres, Vaughn Canta, Brandon Cablay, Tony Dela Cruz, Marc Pingris, Peter June Simon and Sudan Daniel. They are part of the Titan's team of basketball athletes with Gerald Anderson and Keith Jensen. For this collection Titan, UNSCHLD and SBTG decided to go old-school and bring back the 90's. Cinema One Originals 2012 : "Palitan" Trailer

Premiering on the 1st of December, Palitan is a feature film included in this year's Cinema One Originals Film Festival. The plot is built upon the boss (played by Mon Confiado) collecting debt from a worker of his. However, the boss has a no simple collection in mind. He'd like to have the worker's wife in exchange to somehow relieve the worker's debt. Will the worker give in?

Palitan is a film by Ato Bautista starring Mon Confiado, Alex Vincent Medina, and Mara Lopez. Catch it on its premiere night, December 1 at Shang Cineplex.

A newly-opened headwear brand that hails from Pampanga just released their very first collection of three-panel caps. Cordillera LTD takes inspiration in mixing urban and classic to produce timeless three-panel cap designs. No other details have been released yet besides him having a collaboration with Titan. Jason Markk, owner and founder of the most-respected sneaker cleaning solution there is, will soon walk in Philippine soil, where surprisingly he is a part of. He is actually a Filipino by blood. Bee Eyes - Who Does? (Music Video)

Bee Eyes releases the music video of Who Does?, their very first recorded track back in 2009. One of our favorite local artists that you see often in here, Eyedress, is part of this band. Probably the reason why you can easily tell why the video is quite familiar, in terms of the story and the treatment. Bee Eyes has been playing for a few years already and has seen a steady growth to their following. This may be a result of their very different style in music and their distinctive approach in their lifestyle, which more and more people enjoy.

We try to cover all facets of the culture, and one big part of it is the people behind it. This is why we decided to make a new series-segment where we talk to names around the community and have them for a capsule interview. We aim to inspire and inform through these series, through the various people we will talk to. The series-segment is called Purveyr Seven, which consists of uniform seven questions all throughout the series. The first one on our list is Bambu, familiarize yourself with him below.

Bambu is a Fil-American hip-hop artist and community organizer in Los Angeles, California. He recently visited our country last weekend and rocked B-Side in The Collective, Makati for the Manila leg of The Rent Money Tour. Purveyr met him right after he arrived from the airport (talk about tireless!) and fired the seven questions to let us know more about him. See the capsule interview after the break.  

Fresh Off The Boat With Eddie Huang: Bay Area (Part3/3)

The show is hosted by Eddie Huang, the founder and owner of the famed Baohaus from New York City. What makes him really good with food is his passion and dedication in understanding each dish. And also his very straightforward-no-holds-barred character, which makes him perfect for the show. In this episode, Eddie Huang goes to San Francisco city's Little Manila. He gets a haircut in a Filipino-run barbershop and talked with them about Filipino food. On why it doesn't get that much attention and how underrated it is. Also in this episode is his opinion on three different burritos. Watch it all on HD, you will enjoy it a lot more. It features rising star, Yam Concepcion and other notable actors to give us another story of love and the realities that come with it. Supra Asian Tour at Urban Athletics

Two skateboard icons and brand founders. A one-of-a-kind ripper. An internet-savvy skateboard personality. The world's most famous nollie 360. The highly-distinguished "ninja" heelflip. Bring them to a party in Greenbelt, and hundreds of crazy fans will surely follow. That's what happened at Urban Athletics last Saturday night when Stevie Williams, Erik Ellington, Lizard King, Keelan Dadd, Kevin Romar, Neen Williams and the rest of the Supra Skate Team rocked the house. The crew gracefully handled all the mayhem and had pictures taken with their fans and signed autographs throughout the night.
