Last October 3-4, more than 30 Instagram enthusiasts made their way up north for #WWIM12_Baguio organized by Purveyr, Sino Pinas & InstameetPH and sponsored by Globe. All participants gathered in Camp John Hay, and kicked it off with an intro session of the scheduled activities for the 2-day InstaMeet. As our first stop, we headed to the BenCab Museum to appreciate art by National Artist, Ben Cabrera, and other contemporary artists housed in the museum, and to marvel in the beauty of the place with its own garden and majestic view of the forest mountain. Our second location is the Diplomat Hotel in Dominican Hill, which is known for being one of the most haunted and hauntingly beautiful places in Baguio. We capped off the first day with creative group photos before we all went out for dinner. The second day was short and sweet as it started with a quick trip to the Strawberry Farm and the Buddhist Temple, and ended with visits to known tourist spots such as Camp John Hay and Mines View Park.
The #WWIM12_Baguio hangover lasted for over a week, until we had to announce the winners of our #wonderful photo contest. The contest had 10 judges, 6 of the judges are organizers Marvin Conanan, Alexis Lim, Raniel Hernandez, Karl Presentacion, John Austria & Jelito de Leon, while the remaining 4 are Filipino grammers based in different parts of the globe: Rey Canlas Jr., Herald Herrera, Corinth Suarez & Fritz. All of them had the very challenging task of picking the winners of our awesome prizes; from choosing 10 of their favorite photos, to scoring them accordingly, and ranking them until we end up with just 5 winning photos. And here they are, winning a FujiFilm X-M1, GoPro Hero+, Braven BRV Outdoor Wireless Speaker, Poler Field Pack and How to Photography Everything by Popular Photography, in this order:
