Kidwolf x Kio Priest - Mad Kids (Official Video)
at

Pop-electronic producer, Kidwolf, known for his track "Free", has collaborated with fresh R&B artist Kio Priest to release "Mad Kids". Amidst the prolonged reign of EDM in the mainstream sound waves, the track comfortably hits all the principles to become a festival favorite. Kidwolf manufactures sound that's forcefully arousing, then complemented fluidly by Kio Priest's lyrics and inviting presence. "Mad Kids" is almost reminiscent of tracks produced by the likes of Steve Aoki, David Guetta and more.

Purveyr Instagramer: Pat Abella

Instagram has become a powerful tool for one to freely express themselves through beautifully snapped photos and well thought of captions. It is a simple way to capture and share special moments, to see the world through the eyes of others, and to allow its users to experience other people's lives through photos as they happen. Because of this, we decided to do a series to showcase our favorite Filipino Instagramers.
The 10th #PurveyrInstagramer is Pat Abella.
"Hello! I’m Pat and I’m a Medical Technology student at Far Eastern University Manila. I do graphite portraits a lot and just recently, I went back to origami. People say that I don’t belong to the health sciences field, instead, they insist that I should have taken a program in line with visual arts."
With his phenomenally realistic pencil drawings of celebrities and personalities, both local and international, it's no wonder people are starting to take notice of his Instagram feed. The way he plays with light and shadow is just absolutely stunning that you have to take a second look to know if it's a mere photo or a drawn illustration. His feed is a mix of his sketches & origami art, his breakfast meals & coffee breaks, and all things Muji -- Everything shot with beautiful lighting and creative composition.
How long have you been using Instagram and what made you decide to give more effort in it?
I’ve been using Instagram for over a year now, but I just started giving effort on my photos around November last year. I was often complemented on how beautiful my works are. Having that in mind, I took my photos as creative as possible to emphasize my works.
I’ve been using Instagram for over a year now, but I just started giving effort on my photos around November last year. I was often complemented on how beautiful my works are. Having that in mind, I took my photos as creative as possible to emphasize my works.
I’d like to say that I capture things that made me happy on that day or week. I believe that we should make the most out of the simple things we see every day.
I made my Instagram account primarily for my art. As I venture into the community, my subject is not composed of my work alone, but is now a mix of street shots, food and inanimate objects.
What makes for a good Instagram shot?
For me, a good Instagram shot is taken in natural light and good angles. These two are pretty vital for it brings out the best in every photo.
What’s the most unusual thing you’ve done for an Instagram photo?
I think stepping on chairs in restaurants is not unusual these days. With that, I think the most unusual thing I’ve done is to stay in the middle of EspaƱa Boulevard to take a photo.
Are your photos on Instagram solely taken from your phone, or do you use other devices, such as SLRs, digital cameras, etc? Do you think the equipment one uses is a big factor in producing stunning Instagram posts?
I just use my phone in taking my photos. I believe that it’s not the equipment, but how you visualize your photos that make it stunning.
What inspires you? And how does it influence your passion for photography?
I’d like to take inspiration from the simple things I see. If for some, a blooming cactus is pretty normal, for me it’s something worth taking a photo of. I also take inspiration from other artists for my art. I usually study their works for me to grow. These things help me convey joy and inspiration to others through my photos.
Who are your favorite Instagrammers?
I usually check on @klccheng, @jelitodeleon, @felixpradipta, @vorosmate and @urbanxkoi
When it comes to art, I am a really big fan of @valerichuaart, @vinquilop, @abbeysy, @kade_hk and @agnes_cecile
Nothing!
What is Instagram for you?
Instagram is not a plain app anymore. It’s a community where you can inspire and get inspired too. It’s merely more than just posting the food you ate or arranged set of notebooks and shirts. It’s more like a nest that cradles young photographers, artists, influencers and more.

Purveyr Tours Satchmi
at
11.6.15
These days, we live in a world of technology wherein it is easier for us to access and download music. However, our appreciation to music seems to have dwindled. Yes, the convenience maybe a blessing to many but we’re sacrificing the quality of music. Satchmi is said to be the biggest vinyl distributor in the country at the moment, and also a lifestyle shop. According to their brand story, it’s all about their “inherent love for good old days.” Vinyl records bring out the tiniest details that most people probably do not notice, but makes all the difference when heard in full – as well as the famous vinyl scratch sound. It is truly an experience every audiophile deserves and Satchmi knows this. It is why they have The Motorino on hand, a vinyl record player. They have a comfortable cozy listening room where you can sit and enjoy the records in full silence. Satchmi just wants people to experience what good music is all about and for them to be more passionate about it. Basically, just have a good time and enjoy music. Satchmi advocates in building up a culture that encourages passion above all else. It allows audiophiles to be surrounded by the beauty of vinyl music. You can definitely tell at the sight of it that it’s indeed a store built by love for good music. We reached out to the owners to know about its story and what else it can offer.

Can you share with us the story behind
Satchmi?
Satchmi began out of a team brought together by a common infatuation, old souls who longed for the good old days and looked for the finer things in life. We started out as an online record store that sold the widest range of vinyl records available on the market (we still do). We slowly expanded into more than that -- to creating our own turntable - The Motorino, starting an annual tradition of the biggest celebration of records - Vinyl Day, and opening our first flagship store at SM Megamall -- a testament into making records available for everyone and anyone. We started to add in other things as well such as leather goods, film, cameras, journals, and anything unique and out of the ordinary that promotes a lifestyle only the romantic can appreciate. We have always been curators of functional luxury and we continue to do that as we grow into a lifestyle brand unmatched by anyone.
What is the philosophy and lifestyle of Satchmi, can you tell us more about it?
We value the philosophies of putting out your best work, of being proud of your product, and guaranteeing quality. We always handpick everything from the record titles, to the products we put into the store. We promote the analog lifestyle, taking things slow, taking time to smell the roses and appreciating the finer things in life. Our fast paced world calls for simplicity and that's what we strive to put out there by going back to our roots.
Having that vinyl records and players are considered to be uncommon luxuries, what made you decide to build a business around it?
The sheer love we had for it. We've always loved records, we started out as collectors until we decided to share that love with everyone. What we love most about vinyl is its potential. It has always been lauded by audiophiles for the warmth you can't duplicate with any other musical medium. It's unique and no other business has had a vinyl collection as vast and huge as ours.
When and what made you decide to put up the Satchmi store?
We decided back in 2011 to try out the online store, selling records and having them delivered to homes. Our main tagline was to make vinyl accessible to everyone. The physical store came to be because of the friends we've made along the way who have supported us since Day 1 and Vinyl Day 2013. The store would not have existed without the people who stood by us when Satchmi was just a concept and online store.
Apart from vinyl records and players, what else do you have in-store and are planning to have available in Satchmi?
We already have a wide assortment of lifestyle products such as socks, neckties, journals, books, film, pens, etc. and we plan on bringing even more in that promote handcrafted, unique products you can't find anywhere else.
