As KLTRD continues to set their sights on a progressive Makati subulture and community, they reaches out to another Makati-based lifestyle brand, the barbers of Yague St., Slick Barbers Co. Both brands coincide in their mission to cultivate their turf, which is why it's not surprising to hear about this collaboration. KLTRD produced a capsule collection that includes a commemorative t-shirt and a natural pomade created by Satinka Naturals. The proceeds from this collection will also go to the renovation of the shop of Slick Barbers Co. Drop by at Yague St., Makati City this coming Saturday, April 16, 2016 to show your support. The collaboration capsule collection will be available then, plus a surprise release exclusively for the SBCo. crew.

Fam represents their hometown with the MAAD ELBI April 2016 Collection
at
12.4.16
Lifestyle brand Fam has always made efforts to serve the scene in Los Baños, Laguna. This time, they raise the flag for their turf with the MAAD ELBI April 2016 Collection. Up first is the Good Kid Maad Elbi tee. This shirt is in black, with the graphic featuring a flip on Kendrick Lamar's 2012 album "good kid, m.A.A.d city". They replaced "city" with "Elbi" to add that needed local flavor. This piece acts as a flagpole, left rusty and vandalized but still standing tall to serve its purpose. And the banner it is holding is the Relentless Losers. For this design, they took inspiration from a famous Polo Ralph Lauren icon. The result is a salute to the nonconformists who persevere through tough times, without regard to the negativity of some of the folks around them. They came up with grey and white variations for this t-shirt. Elbi original and Tropikal Pomades owner Pepsi rocked the gear while Franz Dimaano handled his business behind the lens. Available at Fam Lifestyle Store, Parkway Drive, LB Square, Los Banos. Send Fam's Facebook page a message for online orders.

28 contenders battle their way to the Philippine Finals of Red Bull King of the Rock
at
11.4.16
The first official sporting event on Alcatraz was held back in 2010, when 64 players all from the West Coast of the United States went head-to-head in a one-on-one street ball tournament to be worthy of the title "King of the Rock." Three years later, the Red Bull King of the Rock Tournament went to different parts of the globe to find the top 64 players that will battle their way to the crown. Already on its sixth season, they find themselves in the Philippines with 28 players coming from main cities and provinces for the National Finals. Held last March 19 at what is probably the most fitting of places, Baluarte de Dilao located within the walls of Intramuros, Manila, the first local champion was named Robbie Herndon. The Filipino-American and former San Francisco State University NCAA Division II player will represent the Philippines at the Red Bull King of the Rock World Championships in Instanbul, Turkey this coming August. Visit this Red Bull page to view more photos from the finals.

The Strange Creatures releases Moonstruck
at
8.4.16
The Strange Creatures has recently released their track, Moonstruck. It's a mellowed-down magical 5-minute journey, that is enveloped and lead by strings. It is more of a tribute to amazing sound than anything else. The band relies on it for storytelling with Moonstruck, which gives it a soundtrack appeal. Imagine, a car cruising through a clear highway towards the wilderness with the sky in a gradient of purple, pink and orange, as the sun vanishes in the horizon and the moon peaks lightly up above. You can listen to the track below or download it through Spotify or iTunes.
A Tour of the Serene Liw-Liwa, Zambales
at
8.4.16
More and more people are getting the hang of the flourishing Surf culture these days. Especially now that summer is just around the corner, a lot of urban dwellers are already planning their getaways to beaches and surf spots to find some refuge and get their dose of Vitamin Sea. At the top of their mind would be Boracay, Palawan, La Union and Baler to name a few. But only some would probably think that a quiet village at the pockets of San Felipe, Zambales, already off the beaten path and out of the rows of the more popular beaches along the coastline of the province, could give them the quiet they're seeking.
With an abundance of aerial footages, this short travel film by Christer Isulat presents Liw-Liwa -- a little-known fishing village and surf spot that could be perfect for beginners, because of its sea topography, and those who really seek relaxation since one could expect a thinner crowd and a more peaceful atmosphere.

Wear your pride as you hit the waters this summer; with the tank tops and shirts from Team Manila's second release for the Spring/Summer 2016 collection. The tees were made as casual and easy as possible so that you can effortlessly keep your cool even under the intense summer heat. And while doing that, you can express your love for the local culture, as the pieces feature graphic designs and statements that are distinctly pinoy with the right amount of summer elements like the sun, sea, and sand. For a louder look, some pieces have the tie dye-inspired design that are splashed with brighter colors. Take a look at the collection here; and see how you can welcome summer the Filipino way.
