To celebrate THE Clothing's sixth anniversary they are releasing the Quarter 3 Collection on September 19, 2015. Shot by Daniel Vicedo, the lookbook takes us back to 90's skate scene. A raw depiction of how THE exactly treats the skate culture, most especially here in the Philippines. As a necessity for skateboarders, the T-Shirt is the primary weapon of the Manila-based independent brand, a weapon that they're extremely good at. The collection is composed of retro-inspired skate graphic designs intermixed with the usual aesthetic of THE. In addition to the release of this collection, the brand celebrates their infamous anniversary party on that day, with performances by One Last Meal, Supmerman vs. Kodah, Assembly Generals and the Zombettes. And with the Cubao Expo authorities being a little too strict nowadays, THE is hosting the after-party at TodayxFuture with Mono/Stereo, Abdel Aziz, The Diegos and Kidthrones vs. Curtismith. The 90s Rave in the Philippines in Photos
at
2.9.15
Here’s some hardcore throwback of
“Rave in the Philippines”. The electronic music culture first hit Philippine
shores in the early-mid 90s. Founded by Toti Dalmacion, he started Groove Nation
that spread the popularity of the genre in Manila. Later he organised an event
called “Consortium” which pushed the techno and house music scene further. This
was the time when Malate was the
place to be. Street fashion made a breakthrough as well.
Music and fashion at the time have changed the youth’s way of life. Now the
real 90s cool kids scoured their photodumps to share with us what it was like
20 years ago.

Pinkcow - Faster Than A Speeding Bullshit
at
1.9.15
Arguably leaders of the current surge of local ska-punk, Pinkcow definitely knows how to make an anthem. Pump your fist and vent some bad air as you vibe to their song "Faster Than A Speeding Bullshit". The energy starts from the opening guitars, guided by the bass guitar and the drums from the bouncy verse to the pounding chorus. Simultaneously, they help unravel what's hidden behind the veils of manipulation controlled by the powers that be. Listen to "Faster Than A Speeding Bullshit", available for free download.
