WIP Caps collaborates with one of the well-respected reggae artists from Japan. The "Lion" snapback is a collaboration they made with PAPA U-Gee. With over 25 years performing and being an advocate of reggae, dancehall, dub and more in Japan, it is no surprise that he is a celebrated name in the community. Being a frequent crowd of the famed Irie Sundays in B-side, he is well worth a Manila welcome and celebration. The immensity of PAPA U-Gee's passion is no doubt, very inspiring and strong. The PAPA U-Gee "Lion" snapback is a perfect representation of that passion. The snapback features the embroidered "Lion" in front with the PAPA U-Gee logo on the side, donning the famous colors of reggae. It is imposed on a basic black polyester-wool material, which makes it pop even more. For more information visit the WIP Caps website.

The Clothing Quarter Two 2015 Collection
at
8.6.15
The hype machine has left the station. Quezon City-based streetwear brand THE Clothing provides a preview of their Quarter Two 2015 Collection. The first look on the drop features some nicely-done t-shirts. Most of the graphics circle around the theme "Anti Social Climbers Club". It is a play on words that basically originated from the team's out-of-town trips as an escape from city life. THE also rendered three variations of their staple logo that used two colors to switch it up. Stay tuned for the release date of this batch. Click here to check out the catalog.

CRWN ft. Kajo - Marco Polo
at
4.6.15
CRWN's identifier is his mellow music signature. Fixated from the moment I pressed play on the track, I found myself getting lost to such a therapeutic tune. At the same time, I got drawn into the sweet airy vocals by Kajo, that laminated his need for that special someone. With Marco Polo, CRWN has now made another move forward to carving his name in the ever-changing soundscape of Manila’s music scene. Sit back, soak up the sound and know that music is in good hands.

Dom Ochotorena: The Art of Rubber Stamps
at
4.6.15
For graphic artist, Dom Ochotorena, rubber-cutting is
calming and is a great past time. He learned the art of rubber-cutting during
college as one of his projects. While getting caught up in the corporate world,
Dom put the hobby to rest. But later on in 2013, he got a new carving set and
he hasn’t stopped carving since then. His Speedball lino cutter, X-acto knife
and rubber blocks are his partners-in-crime. Whatever he can sketch, he will
etch in great detail. The outcomes vary from big to small stamps, with
different themes such as animals, people, things, places and more. Some of his notable works are carvings of the Leaning Tower of Pisa,
the Big Ben, a Mona Lisa and even Pope Francis. Dom is an inspiring example of
following one’s craft. He is a member of an art organization, Ang InK (Ilustrador ng Kabataan). Check out Ang InK’s exhibit open for the whole month of June in Prism Gallery Makati to see his work along with other artists. You can also visit his Instagram account for more of
his works, @domochotorena. You could commission him for special art works and
even learn the craft through his workshops.

Titan Opens UP Town Center Location
at
3.6.15
Local basketball retailer Titan recently opened another location to add to their already stellar group of stores. And to celebrate the opening, Titan restocked a number of Jordan releases from past months, giving students, athletes and sneakerheads from nearby universities a second chance to score some heat. As of this writing, the restock may have come and gone, but with basketball's never-ending popularity in this country, it looks like Titan's new store is gonna stay for a while. Swing by Titan UP Town Center for a fresh pair of kicks, and a fresh haircut as well if you're up to it.

Team Manila 10 Years: Tee Gallery
at
1.6.15
From its humble beginnings, Team Manila reaches its 10th year anniversary mark on April 21, 2015. To celebrate the occasion, its family, friends and followers gathered for a night of thanksgiving. Last April 23, 2015, Suez and Zapote Gallery opened its doors for Team Manila 10 Years: Tee Gallery. They made a trip down memory lane by raiding through their archives. 200 plus TM tees were exhibited and were arranged by color and collection. It was a massive throwback full of colors and memorable designs. Who can forget the iconic aviator wearing Rizal silhouette? Or the array of Pinoy puns and classic references only Filipinos can get? Of course, the festivities wouldn't be complete without Pinoy food, booze and sets by DJ Rye, DJ Arbie Won and DJ Madz. Guests enjoyed the night filled with love for design and country. Cheers to Team Manila! May they keep the Pinoy pride loud and proud in the years to come.
