Starbucks Reserve™ Opens at Burgos Circle

We have been experiencing recently the growth in number of the third wave coffee shops around the metro. This trend may have shaken Starbucks Philippines' take on the local coffee-loving community and led them to bring in their higher-tier coffee shop concept, the Starbucks Reserve™. The specialty store will serve "exotic, rare, and exquisite single-origin wholebean coffees in very small quantities." The Starbucks Reserve™ at Burgos Circle will open their doors tomorrow, May 13, 2014. To know more of what's in-store for everyone in this new concept, drop by Pepper.

Visual Breakdown of the Nike Kobe 9 "Philippines"

It's just fitting for the Nike Kobe 9 to draw inspiration from a basketball crazed-country like the Philippines. Integrating the love for basketball into a sneaker with the proper aesthetics and concepts isn't easy, but Locker Room Legends gives us a breakdown on the different inspirations and stories behind the creation of the brand new Nike Kobe 9 "Philippines".

"The country’s fanatical love for the game is told through the sneaker, and now they go into the designer’s mind and explain how the inspiration came about and how random facets of Filipino life tell a compelling story."

Tao Sa Laya - Aklas Panata

A very few of you might have grabbed a CD of Tao Sa Laya's album Aklas Panata some years ago. The crew spreads the music by uploading the whole album for free download. Despite being out for quite some time, these tracks still sound fresh. Emcees Ilaya and Siyensia headline the microphone warriors to accompany timeless music produced by Kintal Dakila and Tala. For those searching for hip-hop with an undeniable Filipino flavor, these tracks will surely deliver. The beats sound truly local and oriental, while lyrics are in deep Filipino yet understandable for most, and mostly tackle the hardships of the Filipino nation.

Calle: The Takeover 2014

Summertime is skate filming time here in the Philippines right before the rainy season kicks in. But with the overbearing heat turning Manila's concrete jungle into a huge sauna house, street missions are just too much for skaters to handle. Calle's skate team seek refuge in Zambales and mixes business with pleasure. After taking part in a concrete bowl jam, the crew hits up the beach for some family bonding time. Then it's back to work, as Kenneth Evangelista, Neil John Natividad, Chocks Mangaspar, and the rest of the team attack some spots and fill their computers with some precious skate clips.
