Local brand, Royalty has proven to be one of the more daring and edgy brands in the Metro - taking in various influences and cultures for their products. The brand has stepped forward ahead of the trends, taking their own path towards success. Their latest collection is once again inspired and interpreted through Japanese culture and heritage - Japan treasures their culture, and the richness of tradition and convention is put to play by Royalty right here. Entitled "Shibui" which is derived from the Japanese philosophy of aesthetic that underlines beauty in subtlety. The collection fully encapsulates the aesthetics of the brand - from the solid colors, to the subtle designs, to the minimal mix of materials, to the sudden explosion of cool colors, and to the geometrical patterns that never get old. Royalty infuses the trend that is of streetwear with the very rich traditions and tasteful of Japanese culture. The collection has a range of tees, buttondowns and a pair of shorts to rightfully match the piercing heat of summer. May go down as one of the more well-put-together collection yet in 2014 - we do expect more from Royalty - and they won't be slowing down for sure.

Be Back in 2014
at
17.12.13
We are very sorry for the sudden halt of our operations, we actually almost decided on closing the website down. However, the support we got and we are still getting prevented us from doing so. We are humbled by all the positive words thrown at us, and very happy that we have helped the local culture progress in such a short time that the website has been running. So it is inevitable for us to try to find a way to continue what we do. After a short break, we assure you that we will be back stronger and more passionate with this. Operations will not be rushed though and our growth will be controlled to level with our team's capacity, keeping in mind that our mission is to promote the local culture nonetheless. We won't announce any specific details yet as we are still working on our final plans. But what we can say is; we will be back by 2014, so expect us by then. For now, we extend you our gratitude for supporting us and what we do. Let's work on to pushing it further by next year.

Top 5 Songs We Want To Hear at the Tegan and Sara Show
at
18.11.13
The Tegan and Sara show is right around the corner and most of us are dying to know what they have in store for their first visit to the Philippines. Knowing that they've been a household name for indie rock, we want nothing but to hear our favorite tracks from their eighteen years of releasing records and playing shows. These are t top five songs that have made me, as well as other fans, fall in love with the duo through all these years. With fingers crossed and managed expectations; I sincerely hope that these songs are in their Manila set list.
5. "Walking with a Ghost" (from Jealous, 2004)
This
song must already be a staple for any Tegan and Sara / indie rock fan. Combine
catchy and simple lyrics with a strong guitar riff and you have a song that
will get stuck in your head for days.
4. "Someday" (from Sainthood, 2009)
Sometimes
music is the perfect companion when we find ourselves in awful situations. This
track is so full of hope and assurance to get you through any rough day or
week. If we're having a bad week, we're sure that hearing this song live will
give us that 180-degree turn for the better.
3. "Nineteen" (from The Con, 2007)
This
totally relatable track will remind us of what it was like to be
nineteen going through those feelings. This angst-y/grungy song would be a nice
break from all the pop tracks from their latest album.
2. "Closer" (from Heartthrob, 2013)
What's not to love about this song? This
recent chart topper has to be in the list of top songs we want to hear during
the show. There's no doubt that we are all going to go completely bonkers over
this synth pop anthem. Just imagine the stage's flashing lights and the booming
amplifiers alongside the crowd's fists pumping in the air and screaming voices.
1. "Call it Off" (from The Con, 2007)
We're
sure that a lot of the fans have had this song in their sentimental/emotional
playlists since the day they first heard this song on the record. We're all
going to feel nostalgic, remembering the different breakups and failed
relationships that was accompanied by listening to this track. This short but powerful track is going to be the emotional pinnacle for most fans.
