From A Distance Beyond 18 Inches: RM de Leon

Contemporary painter and collegiate professor, RM de Leon, recently opened his latest art installation called "From A Distance Beyond 18 Inches". As a satire on popular and mainstream abstraction, this current exhibition features a number of familiar cartoon characters presented in a beautiful yet deconstructive manner.  Utilizing an evident mastery of line and color, it is not surprising that his work immediately interacts with it's viewer's imagination.  Not only do the pieces engage it's audience with a playful design aesthetic, but it also gives you a nostalgic feeling, which makes his work so much more appealing and alluring.  The exhibit will run for three weeks, from July 4 - 22, in the Artinformal Main Gallery.

Sole Academy: Asics Gel Saga "Sprite"

Sole Academy has been releasing sought-after pairs recently, and they have no plans of slowing down. After releasing the St. Alfred x Asics collaboration, which was a hit to sneaker enthusiasts, they are now set to release the Asics Gel Saga "Sprite". The shoe has two tones; navy and neon, with mesh and suede uppers, plus the gel midsoles trademark of Asics. This will come out on Saturday at their store. It will be sold in a first come, first serve basis, but their loyal Academy members will have the upper hand as they can reserve a pair for themselves. The Asics Gel Saga "Sprite" will retail at 7,000 Php and will come in limited quantity, so better schedule a visit at Sole Academy this coming Saturday.

weLegendary Ronac: GRIZZLY

Skate brand, Grizzly makes it way to the shelves of local skate shop, weLegendary this month. Started by a young Torey Pudwill, back when the American skateboarder was only twelve years old. Torey Pudwill used baking mold as the original inspiration to the Grizzly logo; drawn by his dad, then later on molded onto steel - and eventually Torey Pudwill and his friends were stamping sheets using the mold and slowly selling it to skate shops. From small and humble beginnings, the brand continued to grow as Torey Pudwill rose to fame and when Grizzly started being distributed by the famous Diamond Supply Company. weLegendary fills their stocks up with some Grizzly apparel - from shirts, to a sweatshirt, range of caps, and a couple of beanies. Sound Is All Our Dreams Of Music

The Philippines has been getting so much love from international acts, having more and more international musicians and artists performing locally. That's what Fete Dela WSK x Japan Foundation with the cooperation of Greenpapaya and iLL are going to do, bringing Daisuke Tanabe and Yosi Horikawa from Japan to the Philippines with acts from Bent Lynchpin, Similar Objects x Moki McFly and Red-I, plus Projection Mapping by Gene Kogan from the U.S.
